Spray Tan prep is the key to getting your glow results of your dreams and in this article we lay out exactly what you should be mindful of not only before your appointment but also after. Spray Tan Prep: Pre-care

Lip blush precare is important to make sure you are an ideal candidate. Below are some ways you can better understand if you are a good fit for this service.

Shaving

 Shave and moisturize the night before your spray tan.

Waxing

If you wax, it is best to wax 1-2 days before your tan.

Rinsing

Rinse off with a cold shower and gently exfoliate the day of your spray tan. It is advised to shower several hours before your appointment (not right before). *Please avoid using Dove body wash and bar soap before and after your spray tan.  

Makeup

Do not wear makeup, lotion, moisturizer, deodorant, or perfumes – these can block the DHA, causing your tan to not develop as much or to look uneven.

  • Aveeno
  • Eucerin
  • Bath & Body Works
  • Suave
  • Nivea
  • Ivory
  • Lubriderm
  • Dial
  • Oil of Olay

Hair Conditioner Use

If using hair conditioner, fully rinse back area off to ensure no residue is left on back and shoulder region.

Spray Tan Prep: After-care

Much like Spray Tan prep for before your appointment, how you handle your new beautiful glow will have an impact on your results. In order to make sure you are as happy as you can be with our services, check out our guidelines & tips below for your post appointment spray tan.

Dark Clothes

Wear dark, loose-fitting clothing after your spray tan session.

Avoid Water

Avoid water for at least 8 hours after your tan (no pool, shower, or exercise).

1st Shower

For your first post-tan shower simply rinse off with cool water until the water runs clear. Do not shave or use any scrubs, oils, or body wash.

Pat, Don't Rub

After your shower, pat yourself dry with a towel rather than rubbing. 

Still No Shave/Wax

Avoid shaving or waxing right after your tan, as this removes the hair along with the upper surface of your skin, which has just been spray tanned. 

Avoid Soaking

To extend the life of your tan, avoid soaking in water, shave with a razor that does not have a moisturizing strip, don’t use harsh chemicals, and moisturize daily. Avoid using Dove body wash and stick to products that are sulfate-free and paraben-free.

Say No To Heavy Fragrance

Avoid heavily fragranced lotions as well as acne products and retinols as these can strip your tan more quickly.
